Players Soccer Club
I established Tabagators Soccer Club in 1989 with the specific purpose of developing a competitive youth soccer program. The goals were to achieve state, regional, and national championship titles, as well as developing players capable of receiving college scholarships based on their playing ability and academic achievement. We had tremendous success in accomplishing most of these goals with a large number of players placed in the nation’s top collegiate programs. In addition we had many players placed in Region IV and Youth National teams. Tabagators teams won many state titles and achieved highest accomplishments ever from Nevada in Regional and National competition by teams winning some of the most prestigious tournaments in the US and Europe.
In 2008 with a name change but still the same philosophy and lessons learned we embarked on a new and exciting challenge. The selection of a new name was an easy and obvious one for me and the teams started competition under the new name “Players Soccer Club.” The coaching staff consists of the original coaches that were responsible for the Tabagators success in addition to some of our most accomplished players that have completed their illustrious collegiate careers. Players SC teams have achieved tremendous success in a short period including winning three state titles in the first year and growing from 8 to 23 teams in the second year under the new name.
Players SC implements a comprehensive structured training program that is a culmination of over 45 years of my soccer experiences at the highest levels of playing and coaching. The mission is the same, to help develop highly skilled players capable of playing high quality attacking soccer with confidence in their abilities and freedom to express themselves in the game and play without fear of failure. The club now takes pride in having programs to develop players for the US National teams and to assist them in pursuing professional soccer careers in the US and overseas. Presently with one player at the US Youth National residency program in Florida and former players playing in the nation’s leading colleges such as University of North Carolina, UCLA and University of San Diego, the club is well on its way to re-establish itself in the list of elite clubs in the country.
